Inspired a lot from the Ford Freestyle, the new Ford Aspire 2018 has been launched in India starting at INR 5.55 lakh for the base petrol Ambiente trim and going up to INR 8.14 lakh for the top-spec diesel Titanium+ variant. The facelift for the compact sedan is priced about INR 17,000 less than the outgoing Aspire.
Available in four trims, the new Aspire comes with more safety kit as standard, adding rear parking sensors to ABS with EBD, two airbags, adjustable front and rear seat headrests and a reminder for the front seat belts. The exterior and interior design cues are shared with Ford’s Freestyle, from the grille on the nose to the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s Sync 3.[gallery size="full" ids="5806,5809,5805,5807,5808"]The Aspire is powered by the same 96hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor from the Freestyle, with a claimed fuel economy of 20.4kpl and another 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 26.1kpl. The new Aspire rivals the new Honda Amaze, Suzuki’s Dzire and the Hyundai Xcent.
